whose eyes to compare with the morning sun? Not that I did compare, but I do compare now that she’s gone. |
I like this poem. But should Anne feel touched by it? Should I? It tells me that this woman was a plaything for Cohen’s literary vanity; a plaything whose utility depended on her being discarded.
